Composition:

Active ingredient: ethanol;

not less than 69.3 % vol/vol and not more than 70.7 % vol/vol of ethanol and water.

Pharmaceutical form.

Solution for external use.

Main physicochemical properties: transparent, colorless, volatile, flammable liquid. Hygroscopic.

Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics.

When applied externally, exerts antiseptic, disinfectant, and local irritant effects. Ethanol coagulates proteins and is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as viruses.

Pharmacokinetics.

When applied locally, it is not absorbed through the skin.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Boils, felons, infiltrates, mastitis in early stages. For skin wiping and compresses. For surgical hand disinfection of surgeons.

Contraindications.

Increased individual sensitivity. Acute inflammatory skin conditions.

Precautionary measures.

If redness or skin irritation occurs, discontinue use and wash off the liquid with water.

Avoid contact with eyes!

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interactions.

When ethanol is applied externally, interactions with other medicinal products are unknown.
