INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT ETHANOL 70% (ETHANOL 70%)

Composition:

Active substance: ethanol;

not less than 69.3% v/v and not more than 70.7% v/v ethanol and water.

Pharmaceutical form. Solution for external use.

Main physico-chemical properties: clear, colorless, volatile, flammable liquid. Hygroscopic.

Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics.

When applied externally, exerts antiseptic, disinfectant, and locally irritating effects. Ethanol coagulates proteins and is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria as well as viruses.

Pharmacokinetics.

When applied locally, it is not absorbed through the skin.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Furuncles, felons, infiltrates, mastitis in the initial stages. For wiping and compresses. Surgical hand disinfection.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity. Should not be used in acute inflammatory skin conditions.

Safety precautions.

If redness or skin irritation occurs, discontinue use of the product and wash the liquid off with water.

Avoid contact with eyes!

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.

When ethanol is used topically, interactions with other medicinal products are unknown.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
