not less than 69.3 % vol/vol and not more than 70.7 % vol/vol ethanol and water.

Pharmaceutical form.

Solution for external use.

Main physico-chemical properties: clear, colorless, volatile, flammable liquid. Hygroscopic.

Pharmacodynamics.

When applied externally, exerts antiseptic, disinfectant, and local irritant effects. Ethanol coagulates proteins and is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and viruses.

When applied locally, it is not absorbed through the skin.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Boils, paronychia, infiltrates, mastitis in the initial stages.

For wiping and compresses.

For surgical hand disinfection.

Contraindications.

Increased individual sensitivity. Acute inflammatory skin conditions.

Special precautions.
