INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT MEDICAL ALCOHOL 70 (Alcohol medical 70)

Composition:

Active substance: ethanol;

not less than 69.3% v/v and not more than 70.7% v/v of ethanol and water.

Pharmaceutical form. Solution for external use.

Main physicochemical properties: clear, colorless, volatile, flammable liquid. Hygroscopic.

Pharmacotherapeutic group.
Antiseptics and disinfectants. ATC Code D08AX08.

Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics. Exerts antiseptic, disinfectant, and local irritant effects when applied externally. Ethanol coagulates proteins and is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria as well as viruses.

Pharmacokinetics. Not absorbed through the skin when applied locally.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Furuncles, felons, infiltrates, mastitis in the initial stages. For wiping and compresses. Surgical hand disinfection.

Contraindications.

Increased individual sensitivity. Should not be used in acute inflammatory skin conditions.

Special safety precautions.

In case of skin redness or irritation, discontinue use of the product and wash the liquid off with water.

Avoid contact of the product with eyes!

Interaction with other medicinal products.

When ethanol is applied topically, interactions with other medicinal products are unknown.

Special precautions for use.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the use of the medicinal product is possible only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.

Ability to influence reaction rate when driving or operating machinery.

Has no effect.

Method of Administration and Dosage.

Topical use – for rubbing, compresses, and disinfection of skin, including hands.

For compresses and rubbing (to prevent burns), ethanol should be diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio.

Children.

Use as directed by a physician.

Overdose. Cases of overdose are unknown with topical application.

Side effects.

Skin or mucous membrane irritation is possible with local application.

If any adverse reactions occur, consult a physician immediately!

Shelf life.

3 years.

Do not use the drug after the expiry date stated on the packaging.

Storage conditions.

Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.

Keep out of reach of children.

Avoid contact with open flame.
