INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT ANTHANILIC ALCOHOL (FORMIC ACID SPIRIT)

Composition:

Active substance: formic acid;

100 g of solution contains 1.4 g of formic acid;

Excipient: ethanol 70%.

Pharmaceutical form. Solution for external use, alcoholic.

Main physicochemical properties: clear, colorless liquid with a characteristic sharp odor.

Pharmacodynamics.

Formic alcohol belongs to agents that stimulate sensory nerve endings. Due to stimulation of skin and subcutaneous tissue receptors, the drug exerts not only a reflex but also a general humoral effect. Stimulation of receptors by Formic Alcohol is accompanied by enhanced production and release of endorphins, dynorphins, and peptides, which play an important role in regulation of pain sensations, vascular permeability, and other processes.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity to the drug. Eczema, inflammatory and infectious skin diseases localized in the area of application, as well as allergic conditions.

Special precautions.

Avoid contact of the drug with mucous membranes and eyes.

Do not violate the instructions for use of the medicinal product, as this may harm health.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions.
