I N S T R U C T I O N for medical use of the medicinal product FORMIC ALCOHOL
Composition:
Active substance: formic acid;
100 ml of the preparation contain 1.4 g of formic acid;
Excipient: ethanol 70%.
Pharmaceutical form. Alcoholic solution for external use.
Main physico-chemical properties: clear, colorless liquid with a specific pungent odor.

Pharmacological properties.
Formic alcohol belongs to agents that stimulate sensory nerve endings. Due to stimulation of skin and subcutaneous tissue receptors, the drug exerts not only a reflexive but also a general humoral effect. Stimulation of receptors by Formic alcohol is accompanied by enhanced formation and release of endorphins, dynorphins, and peptides that play an important role in regulation of pain sensations, vascular permeability, and other processes.

Hypersensitivity to the drug. Eczema, inflammatory and infectious skin diseases localized in the area of application, as well as allergic diseases.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.
