INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT SEPTIL (SEPTIL)

Composition:

Active ingredient: 100 ml of solution contains not less than 69.3% vol/vol and not more than 70.7% vol/vol ethanol (C2H6O);

Excipient: purified water.

Pharmaceutical form. Solution for external use.

Main physicochemical properties: clear, colorless, volatile, flammable liquid. Hygroscopic.

Pharmacotherapeutic group. Antiseptics and disinfectants.

Pharmacological Properties

Pharmacodynamics.

When applied externally, exerts antiseptic, disinfectant, and local irritant effects. Ethanol coagulates proteins and is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria as well as viruses.

Pharmacokinetics.

Not absorbed through the skin when applied locally.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Furuncles, panaritium, infiltrates, mastitis in the initial stages. For wiping and compresses. Surgical hand disinfection.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity. Should not be used in acute inflammatory skin conditions.

Special precautions.

If skin redness or irritation occurs, discontinue use of the product and wash the area with water.

Avoid contact with eyes!

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.

When ethanol is applied topically, interactions with other medicinal products are unknown.

Usage peculiarities.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the drug may be used only if the expected benefit for the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.
