The drug is contraindicated in cases of low blood pressure (hypotension), slow heart rate (bradycardia), and individual sensitivity to the components. It should not be taken by pregnant or breastfeeding women, or children under 12 years of age.

Can you drive a car during treatment?

When using the drug, you should refrain from activities that require increased attention, such as driving a vehicle or working with machinery.

How does the drug interact with other substances?

The tincture may enhance the effects of alcohol, as well as sedatives, hypnotics, analgesics, blood pressure medications, and cardiac glycosides. Any simultaneous intake of other medications should be reported to a physician.

What should be done in case of overdose?

INSTRUCTION FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT PUZIRNYKA TINCTURE

Composition:

Active substance: 1 vial contains 25 ml of motherwort herb tincture (Leonuri herba) (1 : 5) (extractant – 70% ethanol).

Pharmaceutical form. Tincture.

Main physicochemical properties: clear greenish-brown liquid with a specific odor.

Pharmacological properties.

The drug exerts a sedative effect. Biologically active substances contained in the herb of Leonurus cardiaca (steroid and flavonoid glycosides, essential oil, stachydrine, alkaloid leopurine, saponins, tannins) enhance inhibitory processes or reduce excitatory processes in the central nervous system. It does not produce hypnotic effects but facilitates the onset of physiological sleep and deepens it. It does not cause habituation or psychological dependence.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Functional disorders of the cardiovascular system activity (hypertensive type neurocirculatory dystonia), early stages of arterial hypertension, as well as increased emotional excitability, irritability, and mild forms of sleep disturbances.

Contraindications.

Marked arterial hypotension (low arterial pressure), bradycardia. High individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Precautions.

Prolonged use of the drug is not recommended due to its ethanol content.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.

Pustyrnik tincture may potentiate the pharmacological effects of sedatives, hypnotics, analgesics, antihypertensive drugs, and cardiac glycosides, as well as enhance the effects of alcohol.

Any concomitant use of other medicinal products should be reported to a physician.

Usage Notes.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Since ethanol is an ingredient of the medication, the tincture should not be used by women during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Ability to affect reaction speed when driving or operating machinery.

When using this medication, patients should avoid potentially hazardous activities requiring heightened attention, such as driving or operating machinery.

Dosage and Administration.

Take Pustyrnyk tincture orally after meals.

Adults should take 30–50 drops of the tincture 3–4 times daily. Children aged 12 years and older should receive 1 drop of tincture per year of life.

The duration of treatment is determined individually for each patient, depending on the nature and severity of the pathological process, characteristics of the disease course, drug tolerance, and stability of the therapeutic effect achieved.

Children.

Do not administer internally to children under 12 years of age due to the ethanol content.

Overdose.

In case of exceeding the recommended doses, symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, decreased arterial blood pressure, and possible development of increased sensitivity to the drug may occur.

In the event of overdose, discontinue the drug and immediately initiate symptomatic and supportive therapy according to the patient's clinical condition.

Side effects.

In case of individual hypersensitivity to the drug, allergic reactions (including skin redness and swelling, rash, itching) may develop, as well as dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, and decreased mental and physical performance.
