How should Alteika halychpharm be taken correctly?
The syrup should be taken before meals, after shaking the bottle beforehand. Dosage depends on age: adults and children aged 14 and older — 15 ml 4–6 times a day; children aged 6 to 14 years — 10 ml 4–6 times a day; children aged 2 to 6 years — 5 ml 4–6 times a day. Usually, the course lasts 7–14 days.
What side effects can Alteika halychpharm cause?
Possible allergic reactions, increased salivation, or irritation of the gastric mucosa. In case of any adverse reactions, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted.
Who should not use this drug?
Contraindications include hypersensitivity to the components of the composition. Caution should also be exercised by individuals with diabetes mellitus.
Can the drug be taken with other medicines?
It is not recommended to take the drug simultaneously with antitussive agents (e.g., codeine). To prevent other medicines from reducing the efficacy of the syrup, they should be taken either 1 hour before or 1 hour after taking the drug.

Urgent medical attention is required if shortness of breath, fever, or purulent sputum develops during treatment.

INSTRUCTION FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT ALTEYKA HALYCHPHARM (ALTEYKAHALYCHPHARM)
Composition:
Active substance: 5 ml of syrup contain 7.5 mg of dry extract of marshmallow root (Althaeae radix) (extractant – water), calculated as 20.0% polysaccharide content;
Excipients: methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E 218) (preservative), refined sugar, purified water.
Pharmaceutical form. Syrup.
Main physicochemical properties: syrup-like liquid, ranging in color from yellowish-brown to reddish-brown, with a characteristic odor. Sediment may occur during storage.
Pharmacotherapeutic group.
Preparations used for cough and colds. Expectorants.

Pharmacological properties.
The syrup based on the extract of marshmallow root is a complex herbal preparation containing polysaccharides as the main active substance, as well as pectins, amino acids, and starch. The preparation exerts bronchial secretory, expectorant, and coating effects. It reflexively stimulates secretion of bronchial and salivary glands. It enhances sputum production, normalizing its rheological properties (viscosity, elasticity, adhesiveness), strengthens bronchiolar peristaltic movements and motor function of the ciliated bronchial epithelium, exerts cytoprotective and anti-inflammatory effects, and promotes tissue regeneration.

Indications.
Cough associated with acute and chronic respiratory tract diseases: bronchitis, laryngitis, tracheitis, bronchial asthma, whooping cough.
Contraindications.
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.
Concomitant use with antitussive agents (e.g., codeine) is not recommended.
Special precautions for use.
Do not violate the instructions for use of the medicinal product.
Sedimentation may occur during storage. Shake well before use.
If dyspnea, fever, or purulent sputum develops during treatment, consult a physician immediately.
The absorption of concomitantly administered drugs may be reduced. Other medications should be taken 1 hour before or 1 hour after administration of the extract of Althaea root.
Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus.
The presence of methylparahydroxybenzoate (E 218) in the formulation may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed-type).
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
There is no available information on the experience of using this drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Ability to influence reaction rate when driving or operating machinery.
The use of this drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.
Method of Administration and Dosage.
Shake well before use. Administer the preparation orally: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – 15 mL of syrup 4–6 times daily.
For children aged 6 to 14 years – 10 mL of syrup 4–6 times daily; for children aged 2 to 6 years – 5 mL of syrup 4–6 times daily.
The duration of treatment is determined individually by the physician, depending on the treatment efficacy, and usually lasts 7–14 days.
Children. The preparation can be used in children aged 2 years and older.
Overdose.
Cases of overdose are unknown.
Side effects.

Shelf life.
3 years.
The product must not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
Storage conditions.
Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
After opening, store for no more than 14 days at 4–8 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
