How to use the medicine?
For topical use: adults and children should rub a small amount of the preparation onto the skin as needed. For oral use: adults usually take 15-30 ml (1-2 tablespoons) before bedtime, unless otherwise directed by a doctor. The laxative effect usually occurs after 6–10 hours.
When not to use the medicine?
It should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to liquid paraffin, abdominal pain of unknown cause, and acute gastrointestinal inflammation (e.g., appendicitis). It must not be administered orally to children or pregnant women without consulting a doctor.
What may adverse reactions of Parafina ciekła - Avena occur?
When taken orally, anal itching and leakage of paraffin from the anus may occur. Long-term and improper use may lead to electrolyte imbalance and secondary constipation. Small amounts of paraffin may accumulate in the lymph nodes, causing inflammatory changes.
Does the medicine interact with other medicines?
Oral administration of the medicine may interfere with the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) and other orally administered medicines.
What precautions should be taken during use?
