How to correctly prepare a Coltsfoot leaves infusion?
Place one teaspoon of leaves in an enameled vessel, pour in 200 ml of hot boiled water, cover with a lid, and infuse on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. After this, allow the infusion to cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, strain, squeezing the residue, and wait until the volume of the infusion is 200 ml again (by adding water). The infusion should be shaken before use.
What is the appropriate dosage of Coltsfoot leaves for adults and children?
Adults and children aged 14 years and older take 1/3–1/2 cup 2–3 times a day one hour before meals, or 1 tablespoon 4–6 times a day. Children aged 12–14 years — 1/4 cup; 7–12 years — 2 tablespoons; 3–7 years — 1 tablespoon 2–3 times a day one hour before meals.
Who should not take this preparation?
Contraindications include hypersensitivity to the biologically active substances contained in the preparation.
What are the possible side effects?
In the presence of hypersensitivity, allergic reactions may occur, including redness, rash, itching, or skin swelling.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT FARFARAE FOLIA (FARFARAEFOLIA)
Composition:
Active substance: Farfarae folia (Coltsfoot leaves).
One pack contains 100 g of Farfarae folia (Coltsfoot leaves).
Pharmaceutical form. Cut and compressed leaves.
Main physico-chemical properties: cylindrical fragments, surface smooth, shiny, less frequently dull, marbled, uneven at the ends. Color dark green with lighter specks, lighter at the ends.
Pharmacotherapeutic group. Expectorants. ATC code R05C A.
Pharmacological Properties.
Pharmacodynamics.
The biologically active substances of the drug exert expectorant, anti-inflammatory, soothing, diaphoretic, and spasmolytic effects; restore the activity of the ciliated epithelium of the trachea and bronchi, promote liquefaction and elimination of mucus, and provide a soothing coating effect on the mucous membranes of the oral cavity and larynx, protecting them from irritation.
Clinical characteristics.
Indications. Respiratory tract diseases (laryngitis, tracheitis, chronic bronchitis, bronchopneumonia, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis) – as part of complex therapy.
Contraindications. Hypersensitivity to the biologically active substances of the drug.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction. Unknown.

Method of Administration and Dosage.
Place 1 teaspoon of cut and pressed leaves into an enameled container, pour 200 ml of hot boiled water, cover with a lid, and steep in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, strain, squeeze the residue into the strained infusion. Adjust the volume of the infusion to 200 ml with boiled water. Take warm, adults and children aged 14 years and older – ⅓–½ cup 2–3 times daily, 1 hour before meals, or 1 tablespoon 4–6 times daily. Children aged 12–14 years – ¼ cup, aged 7–12 years – 2 tablespoons, aged 3–7 years – 1 tablespoon, 2–3 times daily, 1 hour before meals. Shake the infusion before use.
Store the prepared infusion at 8–15°C for no more than 2 days.
The duration of treatment is determined individually by a physician.
Children. The drug should be used in children aged 3 years and older only as prescribed by a physician.
