How should Violet herb be correctly prepared and taken?
To prepare the infusion, pour 200 ml of hot boiled water over 1 tablespoon of the herb, infuse in a water bath for 15 minutes, cool for 45 minutes, strain, and top up the volume with water to 200 ml. Filter bags can also be used: pour 200 ml of boiling water over 2 bags and infuse for 15 minutes. Take the infusion warm 3-4 times a day after meals. Dosage depends on age: adults and children aged 14 and older — 1/3-1/2 cup (or 1/2-1 cup for filter bags); children aged 12-14 years — 1/3 cup (or 1/2 cup for filter bags); 7-12 years — 2 tablespoons (or 1/3 cup for filter bags); 3-7 years — 1 tablespoon (or 2 tablespoons for filter bags). Shake the infusion before each administration.
What side effects can Violet herb cause?
In case of individual sensitivity, allergic reactions may occur, including skin rashes, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. In case of overdose or prolonged use, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and allergic rashes may also occur.
Who should not take this preparation?
Use is contraindicated in cases of increased sensitivity to the components of the preparation or to salicylates, as well as in cases of glomerulonephritis and hepatitis.
Can children take this preparation?
Yes, the preparation can be used by children aged 3 years and older.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT VIOLET HERB (VIOLAE HERBA)
Composition:
Active substance: violet herb (Violae herba);
One pack contains: violet herb (Violae herba) 50 g or 60 g;
One filter bag contains: violet herb (Violae herba) 1.5 g.
Pharmaceutical form. Herb.
Main physicochemical characteristics:
Powdered raw material: fragments of stems (green, light green or yellowish-green in color), leaves (green), fruits, flowers (violet, blue, dark blue, yellow, light yellow, pale violet in color) of various shapes, and separate light-brown seeds;
Coarse powder: fragments of stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits in green, light green or yellowish-green color with violet, blue, dark blue, yellow, light yellow, pale violet specks, and separate light-brown seeds.

The biologically active substances of the drug exert antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, bronchodilating, expectorant, mild diuretic, choleretic, and spasmolytic effects.
Clinical characteristics.
Indications.
Respiratory tract diseases accompanied by cough with difficult expectoration of sputum (acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchopneumonia, pertussis), inflammatory diseases of kidneys and urinary bladder, urolithiasis – as part of complex therapy.
Contraindications.
Hypersensitivity to active biological substances of the drug or to salicylates. Glomerulonephritis, hepatitis.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions.

Method of Administration and Dosage.
Place 1 tablespoon of the herb in an enameled container, pour 200 ml of hot boiled water, cover and steep in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, strain, squeeze the residue into the strained infusion. Adjust the volume of the infusion to 200 ml with boiled water.
Take warm, 3–4 times daily after meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – ⅓–½ cup; for children aged 12–14 years – ⅓ cup; for children aged 7–12 years – 2 tablespoons; for children aged 3–7 years – 1 tablespoon. Shake the infusion before use.
Place 2 filter packets into a glass or enameled container, pour 200 ml of boiling water, cover and steep for 15 minutes. Take warm, 3–4 times daily after meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – ½–1 cup; for children aged 12–14 years – ½ cup; for children aged 7–12 years – ⅓ cup; for children aged 3–7 years – 2 tablespoons.
Store the prepared infusion at a temperature of 8–15 °C for no more than 2 days.

Overdose.
Overdose or prolonged use of the drug may sometimes cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and skin allergic rashes.

Shelf life. 3 years.
