How to correctly prepare and take Herb derewiu?

If using the herb: pour 200 ml of hot water over 1.5 tablespoons, infuse in a water bath for 15 minutes, cool for 45 minutes, strain, and top up with water to a volume of 200 ml. If using filter bags: pour 100 ml of boiling water over 2 bags and infuse for 15–20 minutes. Adults and children aged 14 and older should take 1/3–1/2 cup (or 100 ml) of the infusion, and children aged 12–14 years should take 1/4 cup (or 50 ml) 2–3 times a day, 30 minutes before meals.

What are the possible side effects of taking Herb derewiu?

Allergic reactions such as redness, rash, itching, and skin swelling are possible. In case of overdose, dizziness and nausea may also occur.

Who should not take this preparation?

The preparation is contraindicated in cases of increased blood clotting and a tendency toward thrombosis. It should also not be taken if there is hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation or to other plants of the Asteraceae family. Use is prohibited for pregnant and breastfeeding women, as it increases uterine tone.

Can the preparation be given to children?

The preparation can be used by children aged 12 and older, but only as prescribed by a physician.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT YARROW HERB (MILLEFOLII HERBA)

Composition:

Active substance: yarrow herb (Millefolii herba);

1 pack contains 50 g of yarrow herb (Millefolii herba); 1 filter bag contains 1.5 g of yarrow herb (Millefolii herba).

Pharmaceutical form. Herb.

Main physico-chemical properties: fragments of flower heads, individual flowers, leaves, and stems of various shapes; color is grayish-green with whitish-yellowish specks.

Pharmacotherapeutic group. Hemostatic agents of plant origin.

Pharmacodynamics.

Biologically active substances of the herb enhance blood coagulation, exert anti-inflammatory, bactericidal, and antiallergic effects, and exhibit a spasmolytic effect on smooth muscles of the intestine, urinary and biliary tracts.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Pulmonary, intestinal, hemorrhoidal, nasal, uterine (in inflammatory conditions, fibroids) bleeding, hypoacid gastritis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, ulcerative spastic colitis, meteorism, diseases of the liver and biliary tract (hepatitis, cholecystitis, angiocholitis), diseases of the kidneys and urinary bladder (cystitis, urethritis, glomerulonephritis, pyelonephritis) — as part of complex therapy.

Contraindications.

Increased blood coagulation, predisposition to thrombosis. Hypersensitivity to biologically active substances of the drug or to other plants of the Asteraceae family (Compositae).

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions. Unknown.

Usage features.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Contraindicated (increases uterine tone).

Ability to affect reaction speed when driving vehicles or operating machinery.

Method of Administration and Dosage.

Place 1.5 tablespoons of the herb into an enameled container, pour 200 mL of hot water, cover with a lid, and steep in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Allow to cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, then strain and squeeze the residue. Add boiled water to the strained infusion to adjust the volume to 200 mL.

Take warm, 2–3 times daily, 30 minutes before meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – 1/3 to 1/2 cup; for children aged 12–14 years – 1/4 cup.

Place 2 filter packets into a glass or enameled container, pour 100 mL of boiling water, cover, and steep for 15–20 minutes. Take warm, 2–3 times daily, 30 minutes before meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – 100 mL; for children aged 12–14 years – 50 mL. Shake the infusion well before use.

The duration of treatment is determined individually by a physician.

Children.

The drug may be used in children aged 12 years and older only as prescribed by a physician.

Overdose.

Possible allergic reactions (including hyperemia, rash), dizziness, nausea.

Allergic reactions (including hyperemia, rash, itching, and skin swelling). If adverse reactions occur, discontinue use of the product and consult a physician.

Shelf life. 3 years. Do not use the product after the expiry date stated on the packaging.

Storage conditions.

Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, in a place inaccessible to children. Prepared infusion should be stored in a cool place for no more than 2 days.
