How should Arfazetin be taken correctly?
The infusion is taken warm 2-3 times a day, 30 minutes before meals. The duration of the course is 20-30 days. For adults and children aged 14 and older, it is recommended to take 1/3–1/2 cup (if it is a herbal blend) or 1 cup (if it is filter bags). For younger children, the dosage is lower: children aged 7-12 years — 2 tablespoons (blend) or 1/4 cup (bags); children aged 3-7 years — 1 tablespoon (blend) or 2 tablespoons (bags).
Who should not take this drug?
Contraindications include hypersensitivity to the components of the composition, arterial hypertension, as well as kidney diseases (nephritis, nephrosis, nephrosynephritis).
What side effects can Arfazetin cause?
Possible allergic reactions, heartburn, increased blood pressure, and kidney irritation (lower back pain or pain at the end of urination). Increased skin sensitivity to the sun (photosensitization) is also possible, so ultraviolet radiation should be avoided during treatment.
Can the drug be combined with other medicines?
The drug may contribute to a reduction in the doses of other antidiabetic agents. However, it is not recommended to take it together with anticoagulants, antibiotics, sulfonamides, contraceptives, antihypertensive drugs (calcium channel blockers), female sex hormones, statins, and cardiac glycosides.
What happens if an overdose is taken?
An overdose may cause an unpleasant bitter taste in the mouth and discomfort in the liver area.

I N S T R U C T I O N for medical use of the medicinal product ARPHAZETIN (ARPHASETINUM)
Composition:
Active substances: 1 g of the herbal mixture contains:
vaccinium shoots (Vaccinium myrtillus cormus) – 0.2 g,
common bean pods (Phaseoli valvae fructus) – 0.2 g,
eleutherococcus root and rhizomes (Eleutherococcus senticosus rhizomata et radices) – 0.15 g,
rosehip fruits (Rosa fructus) – 0.15 g,
field horsetail herb (Equiseti arvensis herba) – 0.1 g,
St. John's wort herb (Hyperici herba) – 0.1 g,
chamomile flowers (Matricariae flores) – 0.1 g.
Pharmaceutical form. Herbal mixture.
Main physicochemical characteristics: a heterogeneous mixture of greyish-green fragments with light-yellow, greyish-brown, cream, yellowish-grey, orange-red, brownish-red, brown and white specks.
Pharmacotherapeutic group. Antidiabetic agents. ATC code A10X.
Pharmacological properties.
Pharmacodynamics. The biologically active substances of the drug exert a hypoglycemic effect in type 2 diabetes, allowing in some cases a reduction in daily doses of oral antidiabetic agents; they also increase carbohydrate tolerance.
Clinical characteristics.
Indications.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus of mild to moderate severity (as part of combination therapy).
Contraindications.
Hypersensitivity to biologically active ingredients of the drug. Arterial hypertension, nephritis, nephroses, nephrotic-nephritis.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions.
In combination therapy, it may contribute to reducing the doses of oral antidiabetic agents. Not recommended for patients taking anticoagulants, antibiotics, sulfonamides, contraceptives, antihypertensives – calcium channel blockers, female sex hormones, cholesterol-lowering agents (statins), cardiac glycosides.
Special precautions.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. May be prescribed by a physician in cases where the benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus/infant.
Effect on the ability to drive or operate machinery. Caution is advised when driving or operating potentially hazardous machinery during treatment with this medicinal product.
Administration and Dosage
Place 1 dessert spoon of the herbal mixture into an enameled container, pour 200 ml of hot boiled water, cover with a lid, and steep in a water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, strain, squeeze the residue, and add the expressed liquid to the strained infusion. Adjust the final volume of the infusion to 200 ml with boiled water. Take the warm infusion 2–3 times daily, 30 minutes before meals, for 20–30 days: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – ⅓ to ½ cup; for children aged 12–14 years – ¼ cup; for children aged 7–12 years – 2 tablespoons; for children aged 3–7 years – 1 tablespoon. Shake the infusion well before use.
Place 2 filter bags into a glass or enameled container, pour 200 ml of boiling water, cover, and let steep for 15 minutes. Take the warm infusion 2–3 times daily, 30 minutes before meals, for 20–30 days: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – 1 cup; for children aged 12–14 years – ½ cup; for children aged 7–12 years – ¼ cup; for children aged 3–7 years – 2 tablespoons.
Store the prepared infusion at 8–15 °C for no more than 2 days.
After a 10–15 day interval, the treatment course may be repeated (after consultation with a physician). Conduct 3–4 courses per year.
Children. The product may be used in children aged 3 years and older only as prescribed by a physician.
Overdose. Exceeding the recommended doses or prolonged use may cause a bitter taste in the mouth and discomfort in the liver area. Symptomatic treatment is recommended.
Side effects.
Allergic reactions; heartburn; increased blood pressure; photosensitization (during treatment, exposure to UV radiation should be avoided); irritation of kidney tissues manifested by pain in the lumbar region and at the end of urination.
Shelf life. 2 years.
Do not use after the expiry date stated on the package.
Storage conditions. Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C, in a place inaccessible to children.
Packaging. 75 g or 100 g in packs with an inner pouch; 1.5 g in a filter bag, 20 filter bags per pack; 1.5 g in a filter bag, 20 filter bags per pack with an inner pouch; 1.5 g in a filter bag in an individual sachet, 20 filter bags per pack.
