Composition:

Active substance: water for injections;

1 single-dose container contains: water for injections 2 ml or 5 ml, or 10 ml, or 20 ml;

1 bottle contains: water for injections 100 ml or 200 ml, or 400 ml;

1 container contains: water for injections 100 ml or 200 ml, or 250 ml, or 400 ml, or 500 ml, or 1000 ml, or 2000 ml, or 3000 ml, or 5000 ml.

Pharmaceutical form. Solvent for parenteral use.

Main physicochemical properties: transparent, colorless, odorless and tasteless liquid.

Pharmacotherapeutic group. Solvents and diluents. ATC code V07A B.

Pyrogen-free water for injection is chemically inert and has no pharmacological activity.

Pharmacokinetics.

Water for injection is merely a vehicle for the administration of other medicinal agents; its pharmacokinetics will depend on their pharmacological properties.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Water for injections is used for the preparation of sterile solutions of medicinal and diagnostic agents intended for subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous, or rectal administration.

Contraindications.

Water for injections should not be used as a solvent for medicinal or diagnostic agents if another solvent is specified in the instructions for medical use of the drug. The product should not be used for eye irrigation during ophthalmic surgery.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.

The product is compatible with most medicinal agents, as it does not exhibit pharmacological or chemical interactions; therefore, it can be used to dissolve various medicinal products.

Special precautions for use.

Water for injections must not be administered directly intravascularly due to its low osmotic pressure, which carries a risk of causing hemolysis!

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Method of Administration and Dosage.

Preparation of medicinal or diagnostic solutions using Water for Injections must be carried out under sterile conditions (opening ampoules, filling syringes, and containers with medicinal agents). The amount of Water for Injections required to prepare a medicinal product is specified in the instructions for medical use of the respective medicinal agent. The daily dose and rate of administration must comply with the dosage instructions provided with the respective medicinal agents.
