INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT SULFUR OINTMENT PROSTA

Composition:

Active substance: sulfur;

1 g of ointment contains 333 mg of sulfur for external use;

Excipients: consistent emulsion: purified water, white soft paraffin, emulsifier "T-2", mineral oil.

Pharmaceutical form. Ointment.

Main physicochemical properties: thick homogeneous mass of yellowish color with a greenish tint.

When sulfur interacts with organic substances, sulfides and pentathionic acid are formed, which exert an antiseptic effect.

Pharmacokinetics

When plain sulfur ointment is applied topically, sulfur and soft white paraffin, which are components of the ointment, are practically not absorbed into the systemic circulation.
