How to correctly prepare the infusion from Chamomile flowers?

To prepare 200 ml of infusion, take 3 tablespoons of flowers, pour hot boiled water over them, infuse in a water bath for 15 minutes, allow to cool for 45 minutes, strain, and top up with water to a volume of 200 ml. Alternatively, you can use 2 filter bags per 200 ml of boiling water, infusing for 15 minutes.

What is the dosage of Chamomile flowers for adults and children?

For internal use, the infusion is taken 3 times a day after meals. For adults and children aged 14 and older — 1 glass (if using filter bags) or 1/3 of a glass (if using loose flowers). For younger children, the dosage is reduced according to age (from 2 tablespoons for ages 7-12 to 1/2-1 teaspoon for children from 6 months to 1 year). For external use, the infusion is used for rinsing 3-4 times a day.

Are there any contraindications for use?

The preparation must not be taken in case of hypersensitivity to its components.

I N S T R U C T I O N for medical use of the medicinal product CHAMOMILE FLOWERS (MATRICARIAE FLORES)

Composition:

Active substance: chamomile flowers (Matricariae flores);

1 packet contains: chamomile flowers (Matricariae flores) 30 g, or 40 g, or 50 g, or 75 g;
1 filter bag contains: chamomile flowers (Matricariae flores) 1.5 g.

Pharmaceutical form. Flowers.

Main physico-chemical characteristics: powdered raw material: mixture of powdered, partially disintegrated flower heads, tubular and false-ray florets, receptacles. Color from light yellow to yellowish-green with white, brownish specks;

coarse powder: fragments of various shapes of flower heads, receptacles, tubular and false-ray florets, tubular florets. Color from light yellow to yellowish-green with white, brownish specks.

Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics.

The biologically active substances of the drug exert spasmolytic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, diaphoretic, and cholagogue effects; reduce allergic reactions, enhance regenerative processes, increase secretory activity of the digestive glands, stimulate appetite, relieve intestinal spasms, and reduce fermentation processes in the gut.

Oral administration for gastritis, inflammatory diseases of the liver and gallbladder, enterocolitis, flatulence, and respiratory colds. For external use – in inflammatory diseases of the mouth and throat.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity to biologically active substances of the drug.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction. Unknown.

Instructions for use.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. By a doctor's prescription, if the benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus/child.

Ability to affect reaction speed when driving or operating machinery. Has no effect.

Method of Administration and Dosage

Place 3 tablespoons of flowers in an enameled container, pour 200 ml of hot boiled water, cover with a lid, and steep in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, then strain and squeeze the residue into the strained infusion. Adjust the volume of the infusion to 200 ml with boiled water. Use warm, 3 times daily after meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – ⅓ cup; for children aged 12–14 years – ¼ cup; for children aged 7–12 years – 2 tablespoons; for children aged 3–7 years – 1 tablespoon; for children aged 1–3 years – 1 dessert spoon; for children aged 6 months to 1 year – ½–1 teaspoon. Externally, use the infusion for rinsing 3–4 times daily. Shake the infusion before use.

Place 2 filter bags into a glass or enameled container, pour 200 ml of boiling water, cover and let steep for 15 minutes. Use warm, 3 times daily after meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – 1 cup; for children aged 12–14 years – ⅔ cup; for children aged 7–12 years – ½ cup; for children aged 3–7 years – ¼ cup; for children aged 1–3 years – 2 tablespoons; for children aged 6 months to 1 year – 1 dessert spoon. Externally, use the infusion for rinsing 3–4 times daily.

Store the prepared infusion at 8–15°C for no more than 2 days.

Children. Use in children from 6 months of age only as prescribed by a physician.

Overdose. No cases reported.

Side effects.
