To disinfect wounds, apply the solution to the affected area without dilution. For rinsing, dissolve 1 tablespoon of the preparation in 1 glass of water. To treat wounds or stop bleeding, use a tampon soaked in the solution.
What are the possible side effects of hydrogen peroxide?
A burning sensation may occur during wound treatment. Local allergic reactions may occur in individuals with hypersensitivity. Prolonged use for oral treatment may lead to the overgrowth (hypertrophy) of tongue papillae.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT HYDROGEN PEROXIDE
Composition:
Active substance: hydrogen peroxide;
100 ml of solution contain hydrogen peroxide (30%) 10 g;
Excipients: sodium benzoate (E 211), purified water.
Pharmaceutical form. Topical solution.
Main physicochemical properties: clear, colorless liquid.
Pharmacotherapeutic group. Antiseptics and disinfectants. ATC code D08AX01.
Pharmacological properties.
Pharmacodynamics. When hydrogen peroxide solution comes into contact with damaged skin and mucous membranes, active oxygen is released, promoting wound surface cleansing and inactivation of organic substances (proteins, blood, pus). Upon application, the preparation produces only a temporary reduction in the number of microorganisms. The preparation has a hemostatic effect.

Indications.
The medicinal product is used to stop capillary bleeding in superficial tissue injuries, epistaxis, for treatment of mucous membranes in stomatitis, periodontitis, tonsillitis, gynecological diseases, as well as in purulent wounds.

Special precautions for use.
Application of the solution on a dressing ensures painless removal of the dressing from the wound. The abundant foam produced promotes mechanical cleansing of the wound from pus and tissue debris. The product should be used with caution for the treatment of deep wounds and irrigation of cavities, due to the risk of embolism.
The product is unstable in alkaline environments, in the presence of metals, complex radicals of certain oxidants, as well as in illuminated and warm places. Contact of the solution with eyes should be avoided.

Method of administration and dosage.
Hydrogen peroxide solution is applied to the injured area of skin for disinfection of wounds perse (i.e. without dilution). For mouth rinsing, dissolve 1 tablespoon in 1 glass of water; for applications, wound surface treatment, and control of capillary bleeding, affected areas are treated with a tampon soaked in hydrogen peroxide solution. Duration of treatment depends on the therapeutic effect achieved.

Side effects.
A burning sensation may occur at the time of wound treatment. In some cases, with individual sensitivity to the components of the medicinal product, local allergic reactions are possible. With prolonged use for treatment of the oral mucosa, hypertrophy of the tongue papillae may occur.
