INSTRUCTION FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT PEPPERMINT TABLETS

Composition:

Active substance: peppermint oil;

1 tablet contains 0.0025 g of peppermint oil (calculated as 50% menthol);

Excipients: talc, calcium stearate, potato starch, confectioner's sugar.

Pharmaceutical form. Tablets of 0.0025 g.

Main physico-chemical properties: white-colored tablets, sweet cool taste, with the odor of peppermint oil.

Pharmacotherapeutic group.

Antiemetic agents and drugs used to relieve nausea.

Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics. Peppermint tablets, by stimulating sensitive receptors of the oral and gastric mucosa, reflexively reduce the sensation of nausea and prevent vomiting; they also exert a mild spasmolytic, sedative, and choleretic effect.

Pharmacokinetics. Not studied.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Nausea, vomiting, spasms of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, bitter taste in the mouth.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity to the components of the medicinal product. Spasmophilia, croup, bronchial asthma, diabetes mellitus. Children under 3 years of age.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.

Not established.

Special precautions for use.

Patients with gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn) should avoid using this medication, as heartburn may worsen.

If you have known intolerance to certain sugars, consult your doctor before taking this medicinal product.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

During pregnancy, treatment should be prescribed by a physician only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. If it is necessary to use the medicinal product during breastfeeding, breastfeeding should be discontinued.

Ability to affect reaction speed when driving or operating machinery.

The drug generally does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if any adverse reactions occur (see "Side effects"), driving and operating machinery should be avoided.

Method of Administration and Dosage.

Administer 1–2 tablets sublingually.

The maximum daily dose for adults and children aged 12 years and older is 8–10 tablets.

For children aged 3 to 12 years – 3–5 tablets per day.

The duration of treatment depends on the therapeutic effect achieved.

Children.

Do not use in children under 3 years of age.

Overdose.

Inappropriate use of peppermint preparations may cause chest pain.

Adverse reactions.

Chest pain; allergic reactions including hyperemia, rashes, itching, skin swelling, urticaria, dermatitis; in individual cases – dizziness. If adverse reactions occur, discontinue use of the drug.

The patient should consult a physician if symptoms of the disease do not disappear during use of the medicinal product or if any adverse reactions are observed.

Shelf life. 2 years.

Storage conditions.

Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
