How should Flaxseed be taken orally?

Pour 100 ml of boiling water over one teaspoon of seeds, shake for 15 minutes, and strain. The freshly prepared warm preparation should be taken 30 minutes before meals, 3 times a day.

What is the Flaxseed dosage depending on age?

Adults and children aged 14 and older — 1/4 cup; children 12-14 years old — 2 tablespoons; children 7-12 years old — 1 tablespoon; children 3-7 years old — 1 dessert spoon.

Can the preparation be used to treat skin problems?

Yes, to accelerate the maturation of boils and abscesses, dry heated seeds in pouches or freshly ground seeds steeped in boiling water can be applied externally as poultices.

Who should not take this preparation?

Contraindications include hypersensitivity to the components, intestinal obstruction, as well as acute or chronic cholecystitis in the exacerbation stage.

What are the possible side effects?

Allergic reactions are possible. Prolonged use may cause diarrhea and pain syndrome. Overdose may lead to diarrhea.

Can the preparation be taken by pregnant or breastfeeding women?

It may be used only as prescribed by a physician, if the benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the child.

INSTRUCTION FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT FLAXSEED (SEMINA LINI)

Composition:

Active ingredient: flaxseed Semina Lini;

1 pack contains flaxseed (Semina Lini) – 100 g or 200 g.

Pharmaceutical form. Seeds.

Main physico-chemical properties: seeds are flattened, egg-shaped, pointed at one end and rounded at the other, asymmetrical, up to 6 mm in length and up to 3 mm in thickness. Seed surface is smooth, shiny, with a light-yellow, clearly visible seed scar (magnifying glass 10x). Seed color ranges from light-yellow to dark-brown. Odor is absent. Taste is mucilaginous and oily.

Pharmacotherapeutic group. Agents for treatment of acid-related disorders. ATC code A02X.

Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics.

The biologically active substances of the drug exert a coating, anti-inflammatory, and mild laxative effect, covering the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract with a thin layer and preventing their irritation.

Indications.

As part of complex therapy for diseases of the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract (enteritis, colitis, esophagitis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum), inflammatory skin conditions (furunculosis, abscesses).

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity to the biologically active substances of the drug. Acute and chronic cholecystitis in the stage of exacerbation; intestinal obstruction.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Use only as directed by a physician if the benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus/child.

Ability to affect reaction speed when driving vehicles or operating machinery.

Dosage and Administration.

Pour 100 ml of boiling water over 1 teaspoon of seeds and shake for 15 minutes, then strain. Administer internally only freshly prepared warm preparation, 3 times daily, 30 minutes before meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – ¼ cup; for children aged 12–14 years – 2 tablespoons; for children aged 7–12 years – 1 tablespoon; for children aged 3–7 years – 1 dessert spoon.

Externally, apply heated dry seeds in linen bags or freshly ground seeds steeped in a small amount of boiling water as poultices for furuncles and abscesses to accelerate their ripening.

The duration of treatment is determined individually by a physician.

Children.

May be administered to children aged 3 years and older under medical supervision.

Overdose.

Diarrhea may occur in case of overdose.

Side effects.

Allergic reactions are possible. With prolonged use – diarrhea and pain syndrome. If side effects occur, discontinue use of the product and consult a physician.

Shelf life. 3 years.

Do not use after the expiry date stated on the packaging.

Storage conditions.

Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, in a place inaccessible to children.
