How should the preparation be correctly prepared and taken?
If using the herb: pour 200 ml of boiling water over 2 tablespoons, infuse in a water bath for 15 min, cool for 45 min, strain, and top up with water to a volume of 200 ml. If using filter bags: pour 200 ml of boiling water over 2 bags and infuse for 15 min. Take warm 3-4 times a day one hour after meals. Adults and children from 14 years old — 1/4 cup (if using the herb) or 1/2–1 cup (if using filter bags). Children 12-14 years old — 2 tablespoons (if using the herb) or 1/4 cup (if using filter bags).
Who should not take Equiseti herba?
The preparation is contraindicated in cases of nephritis, nephrosis, nephrosonephritis, as well as individual sensitivity to its components. It should also not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
What side effects may Equiseti herba cause?
Allergic reactions such as itching, rash, or skin redness are possible. The preparation may also irritate kidney tissues, causing pain in the lower back or at the end of urination.
Can the preparation be taken with other medicines?
There is no precise data on interactions with other agents, but if you are already taking any medication, you should consult a doctor before using the preparation.

I N S T R U C T I O N for medical use of the medicinal product FIELD HORSETAIL HERB (EQUISETI ARVENSIS HERBA)
Composition:
Active substance: field horsetail herb (Equiseti arvensis herba);
1 pack contains: field horsetail herb (Equiseti arvensis herba) 50 g;
1 filter bag contains: field horsetail herb (Equiseti arvensis herba) 1.5 g.
Pharmaceutical form. Herb.
Main physico-chemical properties: fragments of stems and leaves from light green to greenish-gray in color, sometimes with brown specks.
Pharmacotherapeutic group. Diuretics. ATC code C03BX.
Pharmacological properties.
Pharmacodynamics.
The biologically active substances of the drug exert diuretic, hemostatic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and hypotensive effects. It has been experimentally established that infusions of field horsetail herb promote the excretion of lead from the body.
Clinical characteristics.
Indications.
Cardiac and other diseases accompanied by edema; urinary tract diseases (pyelitis, cystitis, urethritis); pulmonary, nasal, uterine, and hemorrhoidal bleeding; acute and chronic lead poisoning (as part of complex therapy).
Contraindications.
Nephritis, nephroses, nephrotic nephritis. Hypersensitivity to the biologically active substances of the drug.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions. Unknown. If it is necessary to use any other medicinal products simultaneously, consult a physician.
Usage instructions.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Contraindicated.
Ability to affect reaction speed when driving vehicles or operating machinery. Does not affect.
Dosage and Administration
Place 2 tablespoons of the herb into an enameled container, pour in 200 ml of hot boiled water, cover with a lid, and steep in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, strain, squeezing out the residue into the strained infusion. Adjust the volume of the infusion with boiled water to 200 ml. Shake the infusion before use.
Take warm, 3–4 times daily, 1 hour after meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – ¼ cup; for children aged 12–14 years – 2 tablespoons.
Place 2 filter packets into a glass or enameled container, pour in 200 ml of boiling water, cover, and steep for 15 minutes. Take warm, 3–4 times daily, 1 hour after meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – ½ to 1 cup; for children aged 12–14 years – ¼ cup.
The prepared aqueous extract should be stored at 8–15 °C for no more than 2 days.
The duration of treatment is determined individually by a physician for each patient.
Children. The drug is indicated for children aged 12 years and older.
Overdose. No reports available.
Side effects.
Allergic reactions (including hyperemia, itching, and skin rash). May cause irritation of kidney tissue, manifested by back pain and pain at the end of urination. If any adverse reactions occur, discontinue use of the drug and consult a doctor.
Shelf life. 4 years.
Do not use after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
Storage conditions. Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C, in a place inaccessible to children.
Packaging. 50 g in cartons with an inner pouch; 1.5 g in tea bags, 20 tea bags per carton or in a carton with an inner pouch.
