How to correctly prepare and take the infusion?
Pour 200 ml of hot boiled water over 1 tablespoon of buds, infuse in a water bath for 15 minutes, then cool for 45 minutes, strain, and bring the water volume up to 200 ml. Adults should take 1/3 cup 2–3 times a day, 15–20 minutes before meals. Children aged 12–14 years — 1/4 cup; from 14 years — 1/3 cup, also 2–3 times a day, 15–20 minutes before meals. Shake the infusion before use.
Who should not take Birch buds?
The preparation is contraindicated in cases of renal failure, acute inflammation of the kidneys, anemia, epilepsy, as well as if there has been a history of bleeding from pelvic organs or if there is hypersensitivity to the components of the product. It is not prescribed to pregnant or breastfeeding women, or children under 12 years of age.
What are the possible side effects?
Possible side effects include diarrhea, allergic reactions (itching, rash, urticaria, skin edema, allergic rhinitis), or irritation of kidney tissues. If such symptoms appear, discontinue use and consult a physician.
How to store the prepared infusion?
The prepared infusion can be stored in a refrigerator at a temperature of 2 to 8 °C for no more than 2 days.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT BIRCH BUDS (Betulaegemmae)
Composition:
Active substance: birch buds;
1 pack contains 50 g of birch buds;
1 sachet contains 10 g of birch buds.
Dosage form. Buds.
Main physico-chemical properties: buds are elongated-conical, pointed or blunt, often sticky. Bud color is brown, sometimes greenish at the base.
Pharmacotherapeutic group: Non-thiazide diuretics with moderately expressed activity. ATC code C03BX.
Pharmacological Properties
Pharmacodynamics.
Birch buds contain essential oil, saponins, flavonoids (apigenin, isorhamnetin), tannins, resins, ascorbic and nicotinic acids, carotene, and hyperoside. The birch bud infusion exerts diuretic, choleretic, spasmolytic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, wound-healing, expectorant, antiviral, and antiparasitic effects.

Chronic inflammatory diseases of the kidneys and urinary bladder; urolithiasis; cardiac edema; liver diseases and biliary tract disorders with impaired bile secretion; laryngitis, bronchitis, tracheitis.
Contraindications.
Renal failure, acute inflammatory kidney diseases, hypersensitivity to biologically active components of the drug, history of bleeding from pelvic organs; anemia; epilepsy.

Method of Administration and Dosage
Place 1 tablespoon of buds into an enameled container, pour 200 ml of hot boiled water, cover with a lid, and let stand on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, strain, squeeze the residue into the strained infusion. Adjust the volume of the infusion to 200 ml with boiled water. For adults, take warm, ⅓ cup 2–3 times daily, 15–20 minutes before meals. Children aged 12–14 years: ¼ cup; children aged 14 years and older: ⅓ cup, 2–3 times daily, 15–20 minutes before meals. The infusion should be shaken before use.

Shelf life. 2 years.
Do not use after the expiry date.
Storage conditions. Store in the original packaging, in a place inaccessible to children, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
