The drug is used for the treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers, the treatment of reflux esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is also used for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination with antibiotics and for the prevention of ulcers caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
