The drug is used for the treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers, the treatment of reflux esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease, as well as for the eradication of H. pylori bacteria in combination with antibiotics. It is also used for Zollinger–Ellison syndrome and for the prevention of ulcers caused by the use of anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
