The drug is used for the treatment of ulcerative colitis (from mild to moderate, as well as as an adjunct in severe forms) and to prolong the period of remission. It is also prescribed for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis in adults and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis in children if other anti-inflammatory agents do not provide sufficient effect.
