It is used for diseases accompanied by oxygen deficiency in the body (hypoxia), such as pneumonia, pulmonary edema, bronchial asthma, heart failure, or coronary insufficiency. It is also used in cases of poisoning by carbon monoxide, cyanide, or asphyxiating gases, during anesthesia, and for the preparation of oxygen cocktails.
