The drug is used for the treatment of bleeding and the prevention of bleeding during surgery in patients with congenital fibrinogen deficiency (afibrinogenemia or hypofibrinogenemia). It is also used as adjunctive therapy for uncontrolled severe bleeding in patients with acquired fibrinogen deficiency during surgical interventions.
