The drug is used for the treatment of epilepsy. It is prescribed as monotherapy for partial seizures in adults and adolescents aged 16 years and older. It is also used as adjunctive therapy for the treatment of partial seizures in adults and children from 1 month of age, myoclonic seizures in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older, as well as primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older.
