The drug is used to reduce the risk of death and morbidity in myocardial infarction, stroke, transient ischemic attacks, and angina pectoris. It is also used to prevent thrombosis after vascular surgery, deep vein thrombosis after prolonged immobility, and to prevent myocardial infarction in patients at high risk of cardiovascular complications.
