These may include respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, rickettsioses, psoriasis, trachoma, brucellosis, cholera, as well as severe forms of acne (as part of combination therapy). It is also used as an alternative to penicillin in the treatment of syphilis and gonorrhea.
