The drug is used to reduce the duration and frequency of neutropenia (a decrease in neutrophil levels) in patients undergoing intensive chemotherapy. It is also prescribed for the mobilization of hematopoietic progenitor cells, for the treatment of severe chronic neutropenia (congenital, cyclic, or idiopathic), and to support neutrophil levels in patients with HIV infection.
