The drug is used for monotherapy in patients with metastatic ovarian cancer (after first-line chemotherapy or if it has been ineffective) and in recurrent small cell lung cancer. Hycamtin is also prescribed in combination with cisplatin for the treatment of recurrent cervical cancer.
