The drug is used to normalize or shorten bleeding time before medical interventions, as well as to treat bleeding in cases of uremia, liver cirrhosis, platelet dysfunction, or unknown causes of bleeding. It is also used for the prevention and treatment of bleeding in mild forms of hemophilia type A and von Willebrand disease.
