The drug is used to treat a wide range of infections in adults and children (including newborns), such as nosocomial pneumonia, bacterial meningitis, complicated urinary tract infections, skin, soft tissue, abdominal cavity, bone, and joint infections, as well as for the prevention of infections during prostate surgery.
