The drug is intended for the treatment of adults with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) with the presence of the Philadelphia chromosome (Ph+). It is used in both newly diagnosed disease in the chronic phase and in cases where previous therapy has been ineffective or intolerable (in the chronic phase, accelerated phase, or blast crisis).
