How should I apply ANTIVERRUGAS ISDIN?
One drop should be applied to the wart once a day, preferably after rubbing the area with a file. It is important to protect the surrounding healthy skin with petroleum jelly or an oily cream to prevent irritation. After application, it should be left to dry and covered with adhesive tape for 12 hours.
When should this medication not be used?
It should not be used if you are allergic to its components, on irritated, inflamed, or wounded skin, on moles or birthmarks, or in children under 2 years of age. It should also not be applied together with other similar products (keratolytics) on the same area.
What side effects can ANTIVERRUGAS ISDIN have?
On the healthy skin surrounding the wart, it may cause redness, inflammation, burning, or even ulcers. An allergic reaction to the medication may also occur.
What precautions should I take during treatment?
The product is highly flammable, so it must be kept away from heat or flames and you must not smoke during its use. If it comes into contact with eyes or mucous membranes, it must be rinsed with water for 15 minutes. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have diabetes or circulatory problems, you must consult your doctor before use.
What should I do if I do not see improvement?
Although the treatment can last up to 12 weeks, you should consult your doctor if you do not notice improvement after 2 weeks or if the warts are very numerous, become infected, or become inflamed.

1. What ANTIVERRUGAS ISDIN is and what it is used for
It contains the active substances salicylic acid and lactic acid and belongs to the group of anti-wart medications. When applied to the skin, it produces softening and subsequent destruction of the stratum corneum, enabling the removal of warts.
ANTIVERRUGAS ISDIN is indicated for the treatment of cutaneous warts.
2. What you need to know before starting to use ANTIVERRUGAS ISDIN
Do not use Antiverrugas Isdin:
- if you are allergic to salicylic acid, lactic acid, or any of the other components of this medicine (listed in section 6).
- on irritated, inflamed, or wounded skin.
- on moles or birthmarks.
- in children under 2 years of age.
Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting to use Antiverrugas Isdin.
For external use only. Do not ingest.
Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, and healthy skin. Rinse thoroughly with water for 15 minutes if the liquid comes into contact with the eyes, other mucous membranes, or untreated skin.
Highly flammable. Avoid smoking during application and keep the bottle away from flames or heat.
Caution is required when using this medicine in the following cases:
- if you have diabetes mellitus.
- if you suffer from peripheral circulation problems (especially in the legs).
Patients with renal and/or hepatic impairment may experience adverse effects if the product is used for prolonged periods or over large areas.
Elderly people
Older individuals may be more likely to have blood vessel problems, which should be taken into account due to the possibility of adverse effects occurring.
Children and adolescents
Antiverrugas ISDIN is contraindicated in children under 2 years of age.
In children between 2 and 12 years of age, it should only be used under medical supervision.
Use of Antiverrugas Isdin with other medicines
Antiverrugas Isdin should not be used simultaneously with other similar products (keratolytics) on the same area, as this could enhance the effects of their components.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
There is no available information on the use of this medicine in pregnant women. As a precautionary measure, it is preferable to avoid using Antiverrugas Isdin during pregnancy.
Oral forms (e.g., tablets) of this type of medicine may cause adverse effects on the fetus. It is unknown whether the same risks apply to Antiverrugas Isdin when used for warts.
You should not use Antiverrugas Isdin during breastfeeding unless clearly necessary, weighing the potential benefits against the potential risks to the infant.
Driving and use of machines
The use of this medicine does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
3. How to use ANTIVERRUGAS ISDIN
Follow exactly the instructions for use provided in this leaflet or those indicated by your doctor or pharmacist. In case of doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
For topical use (on the skin).
Recommended dosage:
- Adults and children over 2 years of age (in children over 2 years and under 12 years, under medical supervision):
Apply once daily to the wart or warts.
Before applying Antiverrugas Isdin, it is advisable to gently rub the surface of the wart with a file.
Using the spatula, apply one drop of Antiverrugas Isdin directly onto the wart to be treated, taking care to avoid contact with the surrounding healthy skin, as this may cause redness and/or burns. Protect this area with an oily ointment or cream (e.g. petroleum jelly).
Allow to dry and cover with a plaster for 12 hours. Repeat the procedure until the wart has completely disappeared.
Consult your doctor if warts are numerous or if infection or inflammation occurs.
Although treatment may require up to 12 weeks, consult your doctor if there is no improvement after 2 weeks.
If you use more Antiverrugas Isdin than you should
Due to the route of administration of this medicine (topical use), intoxication is unlikely.
In case of accidental contact with eyes or mucous membranes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.
In the event of accidental oral ingestion, symptoms of systemic salicylate toxicity may occur. Administer fluids such as water.
In case of overdose or accidental ingestion, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately, go to a medical center, or call the Toxicology Information Service at 91 562 04 20, indicating the product and the amount ingested.
4. Possible adverse effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause adverse effects, although not everyone will experience them.
Redness, swelling, and even ulceration or burning may occur in the healthy skin areas surrounding the wart. If any of these symptoms occur, treatment should be discontinued until the irritation subsides. When resuming treatment, care should be taken to ensure that the medicine comes into contact only with the wart(s).
An allergic reaction to the medicine may also occur.

5. Storage of ANTIVERRUGAS ISDIN
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
No special storage conditions are required.
As it is highly flammable, keep the bottle tightly closed and away from flames or heat sources.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.
Medicines must not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Dispose of unused medicines and their containers at the SIGRE collection point at your pharmacy. If in doubt, ask your pharmacist how to properly dispose of unused medicines and their containers. This will help protect the environment.
6. Contents of the pack and other information
Composition of Antiverrugas Isdin solution
- The active substances are Salicylic acid and Lactic acid. Each ml of solution contains 167 mg of salicylic acid (16.7%) and 167 mg of lactic acid (16.7%).
- The other component is: collodion (elastic).
Nature of the product and pack size
Antiverrugas Isdin is a collodion, a viscous, colourless or slightly yellowish liquid with an ether-like odour.
It is supplied in a glass bottle containing 20 ml of collodion.
