It is used to treat adults and adolescents (15 years of age and older) with symptoms such as hearing or seeing things that do not exist, distrust, false beliefs, incoherent speech, and emotional changes. It is also used in adolescents aged 13 years and older to treat states of euphoria, exaggerated energy, excessive need for sleep, rapid speech, or severe irritability. In adults, it helps prevent these episodes if they have previously responded to treatment.
