1. What VinpoHasco is and what it is used for

The active substance in VinpoHasco is vinpocetine. Vinpocetine is a compound used in the treatment of diseases or relief of symptoms associated with cerebral blood circulation disorders.
VinpoHasco is used for:

• treatment of psychological and neurological symptoms of cerebral circulatory insufficiency,
• treatment of chronic circulatory disorders in the retinal and choroidal vessels of the eye,
• treatment of hearing disorders of vascular origin.

2. Important information before using VinpoHasco

When not to use VinpoHasco:

• if the patient is allergic to the active substance or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6),
• in the acute phase of ischemic heart disease and severe cardiac arrhythmias,
• in the acute phase of hemorrhagic stroke,
• during pregnancy and breastfeeding,
• in children due to lack of sufficient clinical data in this age group.

Warnings and precautions
Before starting treatment with VinpoHasco, discuss it with your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse.
During long-term treatment, biochemical blood parameters should be monitored.
ECG monitoring is recommended in patients with QT interval prolongation syndrome (changes in electrocardiogram) or when additional medicines causing QT prolongation are used.
Consult your doctor, even if the above warnings refer to conditions that occurred in the past.
Use of VinpoHasco in patients with renal and/or hepatic impairment
Dosage adjustment is not recommended in patients with kidney or liver disease.
Use of VinpoHasco in elderly patients
Dosage adjustment is not recommended in elderly patients.
VinpoHasco with other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are currently taking, have recently taken, or plan to take.
In isolated cases, vinpocetine may enhance the hypotensive (blood pressure-lowering) effect of α-methyldopa; therefore, regular blood pressure monitoring is recommended when these medicines are used concomitantly.
Exercise caution when using vinpocetine concomitantly with medicines acting on the central nervous system, as well as with antiarrhythmic medicines (used in cardiac rhythm disorders), anticoagulants (medicines that reduce blood clotting), and glibenclamide (a medicine used in diabetes).
VinpoHasco with food and drink
The medicine should be taken after a meal.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If the patient is pregnant or breastfeeding, suspects she may be pregnant, or is planning to become pregnant, she should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
VinpoHasco is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Driving and operating machinery
There is no data available on the influence of vinpocetine on the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.
VinpoHasco contains lactose
If the patient has previously been diagnosed with intolerance to certain sugars, he or she should consult a doctor before taking this medicine.

3. How to use VinpoHasco

This medicine should always be used according to the instructions given by the doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt,
consult the doctor or pharmacist.
The usual dose is:
Adults: 1–2 tablets (5 to 10 mg) three times daily.
Maintenance dose: 1 tablet (5 mg) three times daily.
The medicine should be taken after meals.
If you feel that the effect of VinpoHasco is too strong or too weak, consult your doctor.
Taking more than the recommended dose of VinpoHasco
If more than the recommended dose has been taken, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
There is no data available regarding overdose.
Missed dose of VinpoHasco
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

4. Possible adverse reactions

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause adverse reactions, although not everyone will experience them.
Adverse reactions that occur:
Uncommon (in 1 to 10 patients per 1000):

• sleep disturbances (insomnia, drowsiness), dizziness and headache, weakness,
• changes in blood pressure (mainly low blood pressure), flushing,
• nausea, heartburn and dry mouth,
• increased liver enzyme activity,
• allergic skin reactions,
• changes in electrocardiogram (ECG) (ST segment depression, QT interval prolongation, tachycardia and extrasystoles – these symptoms resolved spontaneously, so it is uncertain whether vinpocetine was the cause of these symptoms).

Rare (in 1 to 10 patients per 10,000):

• abdominal pain,
• leukopenia (reduced number of white blood cells).

Reporting of adverse reactions
If any adverse reactions occur, including any possible adverse reactions not listed in this leaflet, inform your doctor or pharmacist. Adverse reactions can be reported directly to the Department of Monitoring of Adverse Drug Reactions of the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products:

Adverse reactions can also be reported to the marketing authorization holder.
Reporting adverse reactions helps to provide more information on the safety of the medicine.

5. How to store VinpoHasco

Store in the original packaging at a temperature below 25°C.
Keep the medicine out of sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the container. The expiry date refers to the last day of the stated month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to properly dispose of medicines no longer in use. This will help protect the environment.

6. Contents of the pack and other information

What VinpoHasco contains

• The active substance is vinpocetine. Each tablet contains 5 mg of vinpocetine.
• Other ingredients are: monohydrate lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A), magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica.

What VinpoHasco looks like and contents of the pack
VinpoHasco is a white, round, biconvex, smooth tablet.
One pack contains 50 or 100 tablets.
