1. What is Calcium Pantothenicum Jelfa and what is it used for

The medicine contains calcium pantothenate, a compound of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) and calcium.
Pantothenic acid, within human body cells, occurs mainly in coenzyme A, which is essential for numerous metabolic processes, particularly in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Pantothenic acid participates in body growth processes and influences skin regeneration, as well as hair and nail growth.
Indications
Calcium Pantothenicum Jelfa is recommended both for the treatment and prevention of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) deficiency in the body.

2. Important information before using Calcium Pantothenicum Jelfa

When not to use Calcium Pantothenicum Jelfa

• if the patient is allergic to calcium pantothenate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
• in children under 4 years of age.

Warnings and precautions
Before starting treatment with Calcium Pantothenicum Jelfa, consult a doctor.
Do not exceed the recommended dose, especially in patients with hypercalcemia (elevated calcium levels in the blood), kidney stones, or impaired kidney function.

Calcium Pantothenicum Jelfa and other medicines
Inform your doctor about all medicines you are currently taking or have recently taken, as well as any medicines you plan to use.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
If the patient is pregnant, breastfeeding, suspects she may be pregnant, or is planning to have a baby, she should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.

Driving and operating machinery
This medicine does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.

Calcium Pantothenicum Jelfa contains monohydrate lactose
If the patient has previously been diagnosed with intolerance to certain sugars, the patient should consult a doctor before taking this medicine.

3. How to use Calcium Pantothenicum Jelfa

This medicine should always be used exactly as described in the patient leaflet or as directed by a
physician or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult a physician or pharmacist.
Recommended dose
One or two tablets (100 to 200 mg) two to three times daily, not more than 6 tablets per day
(600 mg).
Use in children
Children above 4 years: one tablet (100 mg) two to four times daily, not more than 4 tablets per day
(400 mg).
Taking more Calcium Pantothenicum Jelfa than recommended
A dose of 10,000–20,000 mg (10–20 g) in a day may cause diarrhoea and fluid retention. In such a case,
seek medical advice immediately.
Missing a dose of Calcium Pantothenicum Jelfa
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

4. Possible adverse reactions

Like any medicine, this product may cause adverse reactions, although not everyone experiences them.
No adverse reactions occur when the product is used according to the recommended dosage.

5. How to store Calcium Pantothenicum Jelfa

Store below 25°C.
Keep the medicine in a place inaccessible and out of sight of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton.
The expiry date refers to the last day of the stated month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to properly dispose of medicines no longer in use. This will help protect the environment.

What Calcium Pantothenicum Jelfa contains

• The active substance is calcium pantothenate. One tablet contains 100 mg of calcium pantothenate.
• The other ingredients are: potato starch, lactose monohydrate, talc, magnesium stearate.

Calcium Pantothenicum Jelfa is a white, round, biconvex tablet.
The available pack contains 2 blisters of 25 tablets each, placed in a cardboard box.
