The medicine is used for the treatment of, among others, gastroesophageal reflux disease (heartburn, pain, inflammation), gastric or duodenal ulcers (including those caused by Helicobacter pylori bacteria or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs [NSAIDs]), excess stomach acid (Zollinger-Ellison syndrome), and in the prevention of recurrent ulcer bleeding.
