The medicinal product is used to induce loss of consciousness (deep sleep) for the purpose of performing surgery or other procedures. It may also be used to achieve sedation, i.e., a state of drowsiness, in adults, children over 1 month of age, and patients over 16 years of age in intensive care settings.
