The medicine is used to stop or limit unwanted bleeding. It may be used for prophylaxis or to reduce bleeding in various conditions, such as: after surgery (bladder, prostate, cervix), during heavy menstruation, severe nosebleeds, intraocular bleeding, tooth extractions in people with hemophilia, and in the case of a hereditary condition called angioedema.
