The medicine is used in adults for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, gastric and duodenal ulcers (including those caused by Helicobacter pylori bacteria or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs [NSAIDs]), and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. In children over 1 year of age, it is used for reflux disease, and in children over 4 years of age for the treatment of ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection.
