The medicine is used in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age for the treatment of reflux esophagitis. In adults, it is also used to treat gastric and duodenal ulcers, Helicobacter pylori infection (in combination with antibiotics), and conditions related to excessive hydrochloric acid secretion, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
