The medicine is used in adults and children over 1 year of age to prevent and treat bleeding. It may be used, among other things, for heavy menstrual bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding, surgical procedures (e.g., in the ear, nose, throat, heart, abdomen, or gynecological procedures), and bleeding following thrombolytic treatment.
