Neupogen is used to increase the number of white blood cells (neutropenia) following chemotherapy or bone marrow transplantation to prevent infections. It may also be used in individuals with severe chronic neutropenia, in patients with advanced HIV infection, and before high-dose chemotherapy to stimulate the bone marrow to produce stem cells.
