Elihib is used in adults to prevent blood clots after hip or knee replacement surgery, to prevent blood clots in the heart in people with atrial fibrillation, and to treat and prevent the recurrence of blood clots in the leg veins or pulmonary vessels. It is also used in children (over 28 days of age) for the treatment and prevention of blood clots in the veins or lungs.
