The medicine is used in the chemotherapy of various cancers, such as leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma, ovarian cancer, breast cancer, Ewing sarcoma, small cell lung cancer, and neuroblastoma. It may also be used in the treatment of severe autoimmune diseases, such as lupus nephritis or granulomatosis with polyangiitis.

The medicinal product is used to accelerate the recovery of muscle function after surgery, allowing the patient to regain the ability to breathe independently sooner. It works by binding to neuromuscular blocking agents (rocuronium bromide or vecuronium bromide) administered during anesthesia.
