The medicinal product is used to inhibit the excitability of the nervous system and neuromuscular transmission. It is prescribed, among other things, for pregnancy complications (gestosis), acute magnesium deficiency, convulsions (e.g., in epilepsy or kidney problems), certain cardiac arrhythmias, and in the treatment of asthma attacks.
