Ruconest is used for the treatment of adults, adolescents, and children (from 2 years of age and older) suffering from hereditary angioedema (HAE), a rare blood disorder. The drug serves to address the deficiency of a protein called C1 inhibitor and to reduce the symptoms of an acute attack, such as swelling, abdominal pain, and breathing difficulties.
